BOARD & COMMITTEE NEWS
The Audit and Risk Committee – one of the two Board Committees meets in January to approve the budget for the next financial year April 2019-March 2020, to approve our auditors and to consider the risks that will face Zebra over the next 6 months.
We are currently scheduling a series of residence meetings, where you will all have an opportunity to hear about the Association’s work, and to contribute your ideas for making our buildings great places to live and sharing your concerns and observations. Please make an effort to attend – Our residents’ input is really helpful to us. You will be emailed with the details of meetings to be held in your residence.
We are currently looking at our plans for the next financial year 2019/20. Our major project is the replacement of the boilers at Jerome House. This is a large and complex job, and we’ve already done much of the preparatory work. The boilers need to move to the back of the building. Work should start in June/July and there should be minimal disruption to residents. Additionally we’ll be refurbishing the stairwell at 34 Chalcot Crescent to include new lighting. We are also replacing the fire detection equipment at 8 Chalcot. There is also a lot of additional although minor work that we intend to carry out across all buildings to improve our Health and Safety regime.
