Zebra News and Services

I wrote last week that we are considering providing wireless broadband in a number of our schemes. We are looking at the cost.

Do you have any views on this? We are looking at an individual cost of £15 per month for 20Mbits per user. What do you think?

We’d be pleased to have your views on this and you can contact us at housing@zebrahousing.com

You will shortly receive an email, giving you the log-in address to complete the 2015 Zebra Survey.

This is your opportunity to let us know what you think of our accommodation and services.

Please take a few minutes to complete and electronically submit your form.

We carry out the survey every two years. It provides the Association with invaluable information from our residents and guides us in our future plans.

We report the findings to our Board, and publish them in our Annual Report.

Thank you in advance for participating.

We’ve installed fibre optic wireless broadband at our new development at Anson Road and are now looking at extending this service – initially to Jeannine House and Sentosa House. We’ll be carrying out a feasibility survey over the next few months.

The system is installed and maintained by a specialist company that works with a number of student housing providers and universities. Generally they provide a local router, sockets and hubs to each flat and provides about 20Mbits per user. We pay the company a monthly fee for the service which we then pass on to residents as part of the rent, generally about £15 per month. It’s complicated, because this will need to be retro-fitted and we would need a lot of subscribers right at the beginning of the service to make it economic – and most residents already have a service.

We’d be pleased to have your views on this and you can contact us at housing@zebrahousing.com

The demolition has begun – see the picture, and our builder, DDC, is now working in the two ground floor flats which are being renovated.
