Anson Road Development
We are pleased to let you all know that we have welcomed our first residents to the one bedroom flats in the new building at Anson Road. The remainder of the flats will have been let and will be occupied in the coming weeks. The flats are our most modern, benefitting from green roof insulation, a heat recovery system, underfloor heating and fibre optic wi-fi. The building replaces one that was old and problematic to maintain, and provided only four units of accommodation.
We are currently working on finishing the remaining units and completing work on landscaping and new laundry facilities. Our new residents have let us know how pleased they are with the quality of the new flats, and the thought that has gone into fitting them out, making the optimum use of the space.
Work will begin shortly to upgrade the common areas of the main Anson Road building. This will include rationalising and concealing the surface wiring for lights and fire services, new flooring and repainting.
Carleton Road Development
As we complete works in Anson, we will be preparing to move over to the Carleton Road site, where we have planning permission to demolish the old laundry building, and a small part at the rear of the main house, in order to create two new 2 bedroom family flats and a studio unit. We will also be reconfiguring a large studio flat on the ground floor, to provide a one bedroom flat, and creating the first part of a new utility service riser, that will eventually help us to reconfigure the flats on the upper floors.
Fibre Optic Broadband Service at Carleton Road
We have now commissioned our provider to begin installation of the fibre optic broadband service for Carleton Road residents. We will update residents on the progress of this shortly.
Thank you to the residents of Jerome House who took the time to meet and respond to our request for suggestions, and to highlight issues that affect the occupants of the building. Your responses have been presented to the Board for information, and we will be taking a number of your suggestions forward in our programme for the new financial year.
We are now close to completing the roof works and front elevation repairs and decoration at 9, Chalcot Square. We have repaired roof gutters and drains, repaired stone and plaster work and sills, and repainted the building.
We anticipate that the scaffolding will be down within the next two weeks, after our surveyor has carried out post-works inspection.
Thank you to all residents for their co-operation and patience during this time.
