GUEST ROOM

 

Did you know that we have a guest room where family or friends can stay when they come to visit you? It’s located at Jerome House, South Kensington. It can be booked for between one and fourteen nights (longer by negotiation). It can accommodate two adults plus one adult or two children on the additional sofa bed.

It has a microwave, fridge/freezer TV, a desk, a large wardrobe and wi-fi. On the same floor the guests have use of the shower/toilets, the kitchen and the common room. The cost is £65 a night single, £85 per night double or £95 per night fully occupied.

Building works & recycling

BUILDING WORKS

We are still completing  minor roof repairs and replacement of two windows at the rear of Sentosa, and a few guttering repairs at the rear of Jeannine.

We expect to have the Scaffolding down in early February.

RUBBISH AND RECYCLING COLLECTIONS AT IMPALA HOUSE, NW1In the coming months, some major changes to the general waste and recycling collection service at Impala House will take effect.

Camden Council services have delivered a leaflet for all residents on this. Please read the literature carefully.

The main change is that rubbish and recycling will be collect every two weeks, not the weekly collection now in place.

This means that all residents will need to be careful about how and what they dispose of, so that our bin areas do not become untidy.

We will write to all residents nearer the time to remind you all of the new procedures.

MAJOR WORKS

We are planning to redecorate the stairwells at 30 and 34 Chalcot Crescent. Our timescales which have not yet been finalised are late January for 30 and March for 34. We’ll be in touch with all residents affected when we’ve got a better idea of the timeframes. 

 

Our plans to completely renew the roof covering at Jeannine are progressing. This is a major project and Steve will be liaising with residents over timescales and any possible disruption as soon as we are able but in all likelihood this work will begin in early April and last for 8 -10 weeks. Whilst the building is scaffolded (and it will be alarmed) we’ll carry out some repairs to windows and stonework and also redecorate. Again we’ll liaise with everyone affected well before we start the work.

 However, we are planning to completely renew the roof covering at Jeannine in the first part of this year. This is a major project and we will be liaising with residents over timescales and any possible disruption as soon as we are able.

 

BOARD NEWS

After many years of very loyal service as both a Board member and Chair of Zebra Naraindra Maharaj has decided to resign. Naraindra was formerly a Zebra tenant and so has a unique perspective on the organisation. Naraindra will keep in touch with us – and probably continue to chide us to do better.

We have one other former Zebra resident on our Board and we are hoping to recruit another. We think it’s useful  to have this experience on the Board because it gives a tenant’s view (albeit  a former tenant) on our plans and performance.
