Social Programme

We’ve booked two new shows.

We have tickets for Goodnight Mr Tom on Wednesday 17th February 7.30pm at Duke of York Theatre. The tickets are in the stalls and have a face value of £19.50 but we are selling them to you for just £12.

This is a stage version of Michelle Magorian's award-winning wartime novel Goodnight Mister Tom. It’s the story of boy who is evacuated from the London blitz, who is escaping an abusive parent and his developing friendship with the elderly man with whom he is staying. There are some great performances.

And we also have  tickets for Shakespeare’s As you Like It on Tuesday 1st March 7.30pm at the National Theatre. The tickets are in the stalls with a face value of £50 and we are selling them for just £14.

This is a truly wonderful play – it’s a comedy – but it also contains some of Shakespeare’s most beautiful and insightful verse. And centre stage is Shakespeare’s greatest woman character, Rosalind. It’s also a very interesting production with an interesting set and wonderful music.

Social Programme 2016/7

We are also thinking ahead of the shape and content of the social programme. We’ve found that our programme of plays and shows in London is its most popular element – so this will continue to be the core of the programme. But is there anything else you’d like us to include? This year marks the 400 anniversaries of the deaths of two giants of European literature Shakespeare and Cervantes and we’ll try and reflect this in the programme. If you have any thoughts or suggestions contact Steve stevem@zebrahousing.com

Dreamthinkspeak in Absent, Shoreditch Town Hall, Old Street, EC1

Thursday 21 October at 7.30 – just £5

Once again we are booking tickets for the unique dreamthinkspeak. Their new show, Absent, is described as “fleeting, maddening and unbearably heart rending”. It’s the story of the Duchess of Argyll who moved into a hotel in the 1950s and was turfed out when she was 80. You move through her home as you explore the nooks and crannies of the spooky Shoreditch Town Hall.
