We’ll be closed on Monday 29th May for the Spring Bank Holiday. Our normal out of hours emergency service will be available throughout this period.
Electric bikes and Scooters
More and more Londoners are using electric bikes and scooter to travel around the city. Unfortunately, due to health and safety considerations, these cannot be brought into and stored in our buildings.
Please bear this in mind when considering purchasing or hiring one of these vehicles. We will remove any that we see on our property.
Please continue to help us conserve energy
We are doing all we can to reduce our use of energy. Most residents of our student housing pay a rent that is inclusive of gas heating and hot water.
If you pay for your electricity through a pre-payment meter, get a smart meter that can be topped up electronically and allow you to monitor your use of electricity. Also please turn off lights and appliances when not in use, including chargers for electrical equipment.
Don’t waste heat in your flats. Of course, you need ventilation, but don’t fully open or leave windows open. If you have your own central heating boiler turn the room thermostat or radiator thermostats down to 19C. Reduce the time the heating left on. If you are out during the day, make sure the heating is turned off and make sure it’s turned off at night.
We will also want to see how we involve residents in decarbonisation for it is vital that residents work with us to reduce carbon. If you have any thoughts or want to engage with us on all matters to do with how we reduce carbon usage, please let us know.
Health and Safety
Zebra continue with a very comprehensive Health and Safety programme.
All statutory regulatory requirements are up to date, including Gas Boiler checks and Fire detection and extinguisher inspections.
Fire Doors in all of our flats have been surveyed, and any remedial repairs carried out. All of our doors have 30minutes fire protection.
All tenants receive information on Fire protection and testing as part of their welcome pack, but if you have any queries please email heidis@zebrahousing .com.
Our wardens and deputy wardens have all completed fire Marshall and first aid training, and refresher course.
We ask residents to be mindful of leaving any items outside doors or in corridors.
These are important fire escape routes and as such should be kept clear at all times. Thank you.
During the normal day, between 8.30am and 4.30pm, maintenance and repairs should be reported to email@example.com
But if you have an emergency repair outside of office hours, please remember that you should report if first to your warden or deputy warden (in their absence). They will know what action to take.
Our Wardens and Deputy Wardens are a vital part of our service to residents and we are massively grateful to them for their work.
There are still some residents who are not signed up to the Residents’ portal service.
Please use our web portal MyHome (https://myhome.zebrahousing.com/) to improve your communication with Zebra. MyHome allows you to report & track repairs, amend your contact details, submit student letters and check your rent account. You have already received information on how to use MyHome, but if you need further assistance, please contact David Morrow (firstname.lastname@example.org).
ln May/June we will have tickets for The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre, a National Theatre production, an art exhibition and our annual Garden Party.
Please keep a look out for your programme email which will be mailed out shortly.
Tickets for all events are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
